Exercise -
Lat Pulldowns
Using a
Competitor Lat Machine as shown above.
Emphasis:
Lat Pulldowns directly stress the Latissimus
Dorsi, posterior delts, brachialis, and
forearm flexors.
Starting
Position: Adjust the leg pads/seat so
your legs are firmly anchored under the leg
pads. Now stand up and place your hands with
palms facing away from you in a
thumbs-under-the-bar grip. Your hands should
be about shoulder width or slightly wider on
the bar. Firmly grasp the bar, straighten
your arms, and sit down, while
simultaneously locking your legs under the
restraining pads. Arch your back and keep it
slightly arched during the entire movement.
Movement
Performance: Concentrate on pulling your
elbows downward and backward as you pull the
bar down in front of your neck to touch the
upper portion of your chest. Slowly return
to the starting position and repeat.
